It was my pleasure to be speaking about environmental justice, and injustice, in our world today. It is so important to make the connection between decisions and actions we make every day and the consequences these have both home and further afield. When we spend our money we are making a choice. A choice to buy ethical, a choice to buy fair, and a choice to buy consciously. Climate change and environmental degradation effects some of the poorest in our world, and there is a tangible link between the lifestyles we lead and the impacts to different regions around the world. Living more environmentally conscious lifestyles is a direct step towards a fairer and cleaner earth, where convenience and selfishness are swapped out for consciousness and care. Do not underestimate the power of the people, and the influence you have on the people around you; your family, friends and neighbours. Be the salt and light.
