lesswastelauraCut out more crappy Christmas plastic by making your own Christmas crackers! 🎉
Step 1: Take your wrapping paper (brown parcel or tissue paper is best - recyclable! ♻️), a snap, and the cardboard tubes (3 toilet rolls or a kitchen roll cut into 3). Add glue to the end of the paper and then roll up tightly 🎄 Step 2: tie a ribbon/string to close the paper between the first and second cardboard rolls! (Your snap should be running through the middle)🎅🏼 Step 3: Fill with prizes and toys and candies, don’t forget the paper crowns (try and make it plastic free! What about a baked good, seeds, small candle etc)🎁 Step 4: After the tube is filled with prizes take away the first cardboard tube 🧬 Step 5: tie the other side to close up the prize tub, and remove the other end cardboard tub (there should only be one tube in the middle! 🎀 Step 6: Once the cracker is made be sure and glue the brown snaps securely into each side of the cracker 💥 Step 7: Serve on dinner plates, guests must grasp each side and pull to tear open. Wear the paper crowns while eating! 🎄💥♻️ Another simple step to avoid useless waste this Christmas! This uses up your old toilet roll cardboard tubes, which letting you get create with the design and personal with the gifts 🍬🍭 If you don’t think you want to make them from scratch - you can even find kits to make your own! Swipe to see the types you find, and all you need to get is the gifts for the middle! Still cutting out a lot of plastic waste! 🌿
